Student Group Definitions

Use these definitions to understand how Sinclair classifies clubs, organizations, and leadership programs.

Student Clubs

Student Clubs are established by enrolled students who share a common interest, value, or goal and work toward a shared vision outlined in a constitution.

Student Academic Clubs

Student Academic Clubs are established by academic departments to provide co-curricular learning opportunities. They are led by enrolled students and governed by a constitution.

Sinclair Student Organizations

Sinclair Student Organizations are campus chapters affiliated with an outside organization. Members work toward the established vision and goals through programs, events, and activities.

Sinclair Organizations

Sinclair Organizations are comprehensive, co-curricular student leadership programs and college chapters in which students work collaboratively toward the program's leadership goals.

Community Organizations

Community Organizations are independent service and civic groups that promote community engagement and service. They are not affiliated with Sinclair College. Contact a local chapter for membership information.
