Frequently Asked Questions

Fees are payable at your first appointment. We accept cash or check only. Our services are not intended to replace regular dental visits. Patients will have access to complete and current information regarding their current oral condition. Our services are limited to preventive care.  We do not offer extractions, restorations (fillings), endodontics (root canals), etc. nor do we treat dental emergencies.  The clinic is open during the term on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Patient appointments are at 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

How do I become a Sinclair dental hygiene clinic patient and what can I expect? Interested parties should call 937-512-2548 for an appointment. The recording will provide the next date to call to schedule appointments for the upcoming term. The student will perform the services under the supervision of licensed dental hygiene faculty members. The patient and student hygienist will decide which day and time is best for both. Each appointment will last 3 hours and it will take several appointments for the dental hygiene care to be completed. Keep in mind this is an educational setting and the dental hygienist is a student. The pace here is much slower than in a private dental office or clinic. All services performed by the student hygienist are carefully evaluated by highly qualified instructors; these evaluations take time. Your cooperation and patience is greatly appreciated.

What if I can’t make it to my appointment? If at all possible, give your student dental hygienist at least 48 hours’ notice when you must cancel your appointment. That will allow the student to contact another patient to fill the appointment. We understand that there will always be “last minute emergencies”, the unexpected, and illness which can cause you to cancel appointments. However, excessive cancellations, missed appointments or tardiness is not acceptable and may result in your removal from our patient list. Additionally, it is very important that you come to the dental health clinic (Room 14130) for your appointment. Missed appointments jeopardize the student’s learning process and the completion of his/her clinical requirements. Please be advised that failure to appear for your dental appointment seriously affects the student.
