East End Community Services will deliver the Aging Mastery Program as part of our program called RISE 4 Seniors designed to reduce loneliness and social isolation for low income seniors living in Montgomery County. The Aging Mastery Program, created by the National Council On Aging, is a 10-class series encouraging adults 55 and older, to have fun improving their physical and mental health, meeting new people, and becoming active in their communities.
Classes will explore the realities of living longer; physical activities; sleep; healthy eating and hydration; financial fitness; managing medications; planning ahead for sickness/death; healthy relationships; falls prevention and community engagement. All workshops are held in-person, 2 days per week, at various locations including East End, Dayton Metro Libraries and other community centers in the Dayton area. Participants completing all 10 classes will receive Google Chromebooks to stay connected to family, healthcare providers and other community resources.
This program runs March 1, 2022 through June 30, 2022 at WestCare Ohio/East End Community Services, 624 Xenia Ave, Dayton, 45410.
