December 8, 2025 – Canvas Migration Updates

Hello Campus Leadership,

Sinclair’s LMS Migration project — our eLearn Glow Up — continues moving forward as we prepare for Canvas to go live on May 18, 2026 (Summer 2026).

Project Progress – Past Month

  • November Open Lab schedule for help with the D2L Course Prep Guide has been posted to the CTL Events page.
  • The Migration Tracker is now available for chair editing and view-only sharing.
  • An LMS Migration Update video was shared via email with the all-faculty listserv and key LMS staff users on November 6.

What’s Next – Later This Month and Next

  • Canvas (virtual) Train-the-Trainer sessions for eLearning staff and migration subcommittee members will be held between November 17 and December 3.
  • Course cleanup for pilot courses is due on the Migration Tracker by December 15. (All other course cleanup is due by March 6.)
  • eLearning staff will reach out to pilot Course Coordinators to assist with preparation in D2L Dev/Master shells and to create the Canvas Blueprint.
  • Canvas (hybrid) training for pilot faculty will be held on December 17 (1–4 p.m.) and December 18 (9 a.m.–4 p.m.). Invitations and agendas will be shared the week of November 10.
  • Student communication continues with a campus campaign of table tents and posters in high-traffic areas across all campuses.

Stay Connected by visiting www.sinclair.edu/canvas, sharing your questions using our one-question survey, or attending the project’s monthly Checkpoint Chats.

Thank you for your leadership as we guide the campus through this important transition. Together, we’re making eLearn shine brighter.
