Are you a registered radiographer looking for an advanced certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)? If so, this short-term certificate is for you! This one-semester short-term certificate includes on-line didactic classes and clinical education. Radiographers who complete the certificate will be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

What is the program about?

The short term certificate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is designed to provide radiographers certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with didactic and clinical education in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Didactic courses focus on current MRI principles while clinical courses provide students with real-life experience and development of hands-on skills needed to pursue employment opportunities MRI.

Completion of this short term certificate program can lead to employment in comprehensive hospitals, suburban or rural outpatient centers, surgery centers, etc. as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist.

Credentials

Graduates of this short-term certificate program are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists' (ARRT) examination. Successful completion of the ARRT certification exam is a requirement for employment in Magnetic Resonance Imaging in most institutions. Applicants for the ARRT are required to comply with state and federal laws. A pre-application may be made to ARRT in order to obtain a ruling regarding eligibility for the examination. Students with specific questions about legal issues are encouraged to contact the ARRT directly or review the ethics section of their website at www.arrt.org. Licensure may also be required in Ohio for those working in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
