What is the program about?

This certificate allows students to explore content and experiences relevant to employment in multinational firms and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). Students will learn technical information that is applicable to further study in international business as well as direct employment in organizations operating on a global basis.

Program Outcomes

  • Throughout the coursework and required applied activities, students will meet business people and students from other cultures and will develop working relationships and skills needed to operate effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Students will apply their understanding of world cultures and dominant mores prevalent worldwide through directed interaction and teaming opportunities with people of differing backgrounds and cultures throughout coursework and outside school activities.
  • Students will demonstrate, through quizzes and written work, an understanding of how business operates in different country structures, as well as demonstrating a understanding of business terminology used throughout the international business discipline.

Career Opportunities

Students will have the opportunity to develop knowledge and relationships that lead to employment in multinational organizations. Students will have the foundational knowledge and business contacts to pursue internship and careers throughout the world, if they so choose.

Credentials

Instructors teaching business courses within this certificate should have experience working with people from other cultures and within countries outside of the United States. An international business certification, such as one earned through NASBITE, is recommended.
