Description: The first course of a three-semester sequence of courses. Topics include limits and continuity, the derivative and its applications including related rates and optimization, L'Hopital's rule, antiderivatives, the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, integration by substitution. Traditional testing (proctored or in Testing Center) is used in all online sections.

Description: The first course of a two-semester university-parallel sequence for biology and science majors. Topics include scientific method; chemical and biochemical foundations; cell structure, function and reproduction; cellular respiration, photosynthesis, Mendelian genetics, chromosomal genetics, molecular genetics, protein synthesis, gene regulation, genomes, viruses and biotechnology. Three classroom, six lab hours per week.

Description: A university-parallel course in chemistry for the science major. The first half of a comprehensive first-year survey of chemistry. Topics include the basics of matter, atoms and molecules, chemical reactions, bonding, molecular geometry and gases. Students registering for this course should have previously taken high school chemistry or equivalent. Four classroom hours, three lab hours per week.

Description: In English Composition I students learn reflective, analytical and argumentative writing strategies, incorporating sources and personal experience. Students will negotiate between public and private rhetorical situations and purposes to achieve academic literacy. They will write multiple drafts using a recursive writing process as they work toward fluency in style and mechanics.

Description: The second course of a two-semester university-parallel sequence for biology and science majors. Topics include Darwinian evolution, evolution of populations, origin of species, history of life on Earth, phylogeny and systematics, prokaryotes, protists, plants, fungi, animals and ecology. Description: Orientation to safe and effective basic health care practice including medical scribe, community health worker, patient assessment and documentation, infection control, body mechanics, and environmental safety considerations. Two classroom, two lab hours per week.

Description: Exploration of the development, maintenance and termination of interpersonal relationships. The focus is on effective verbal and nonverbal interactions between two people, highlighting methods of initiating and maintaining effective communication with, and understanding of, others through learning and applying interpersonal communication theory.
