Sinclair Hosts Tech Prep Showcase, Highlighting Nearly 800 Area Students

Sinclair Community College hosted its annual “Miami Valley Tech Prep Showcase” today, Thursday, April 9, 2026. This year marked a significant milestone as the largest showcase since 2019, featuring 772 students from twelve (12) regional high school partners - signaling a robust return to hands-on, competitive career-tech education in the Miami Valley.

Students presented projects based on the skills and knowledge gained in their respective career-technical programs. Competitors were judged by industry experts on project research, work-based learning, technical proficiency, and professional presentation skills across Ohio’s 15 career pathways.

Nearly 800 high school students presented interactive projects and prototypes at Sinclair from twelve (12) partner districts, including West Carrollton High School in its inaugural year. Along with these students, high school staff, Sinclair faculty, and local businesses/industry partners were in attendance. Sinclair Professor Dawn Allen served as this year’s keynote speaker, after a brief welcome by Sinclair President & CEO Dr. Steve Johnson.

The most represented competition categories this year include Exercise Science & Sports Medicine, Allied Health & Nursing, Medical Bioscience, and Media Arts, reflecting the region's strong focus on healthcare and digital commerce.

Participating Schools: Centerville, Dayton Public Schools, Greene County Career Center, Greenville, Kettering, MVCTC, Miamisburg, Springfield Clark CTC, Stebbins, Warren County Career Center, Wayne, and West Carrollton.
