Sinclair Community College to Award Record Number of Degrees and Certificates

Sinclair Community College will award a record number of degrees and certificates to more than 9,000 students at the 2023 Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 5th beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the University of Dayton Arena.

2023 Commencement Highlights – Sinclair Community College:

11,800+ degrees and certificates (Record number; 7% increase over 2022)

10 – Bachelor’s Degree Graduates

  • 5 – Bachelor of Applied Science – Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) 
  • 5 – Bachelor of Applied Science – Aviation Technology/Professional Pilot

490 – Record number of Military-Affiliated students earning Sinclair degrees and certificates (40% increase over 2022)

15 – Age of Sinclair’s youngest 2023 graduate

70 – Age of Sinclair’s oldest 2023 graduate

91 – International students representing 23 countries

75 – Record number of high school students earning Sinclair associate degrees

(9% increase over 2022)

The keynote speaker for Sinclair’s 2023 Commencement Ceremony is Debbie Murray, Chief Executive and President of Sinclair’s “sister college,” North Highland College headquartered in Thurso, Scotland.

Sinclair Community College offers more than 300 degree and certificate programs, including specialized and technical areas of study that are in high demand in the Dayton region. Sinclair is recognized as a local and national leader in delivering high-quality and affordable higher education. 

Sinclair Community College is incredibly proud to be named the top college in the country for sustained and persistent student success. Achieving the Dream, an association of hundreds of colleges, awarded the highest honor, the Leah Meyer Austin Award, to Sinclair for demonstrating remarkable increases in student success.
