Sinclair Awarded $10 Million in Talent Search Funding to Expand College Access

Sinclair College was awarded $10 million in Talent Search grant funding, a significant development in the school’s efforts to expand college access and career readiness services designed to strengthen the region's workforce.

Sinclair has secured $10 million in five-year Talent Search funding through two distinct grant efforts that expand and sustain college-access services for students facing barriers to postsecondary education.

Statewide Talent Search Initiative ($6.25 Million) - Sinclair has been selected as the lead institution for the Central West Ohio region of a statewide Talent Search initiative administered through the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE). Sinclair's five-year $6.25 million subaward will support services for 3,500 students, working with ODHE, Bottom Line, and regional K–12 districts. 

Federal TRIO Talent Search Renewals ($3.75 Million) - Sinclair has also received renewed funding for all three of its existing U.S. Department of Education TRIO Talent Search grants. The five-year awards will allow Sinclair to continue serving 1,500 students annually at Dayton Public Schools and Northridge Local Schools. 

Across these grant efforts, Talent Search provides academic tutoring and advising, college and career planning, financial aid assistance, campus visits, and connections to dual enrollment, workforce credentials, and apprenticeship opportunities.
