Sinclair Announces Matt Moore as Vice President & Chief of Staff

Sinclair Community College is proud to announce the appointment of Matt Moore as the new Vice President & Chief of Staff within the President's Office. Moore transitions into this leadership role after serving as Sinclair's Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Operations & Student Services since 2019, providing leadership across several key college operations, including Financial Aid & Scholarships, Registration & Student Records, and Enrollment Operations.

In his new role, Moore will oversee day-to-day operations within the Office of the President and serve as a member of Sinclair's senior leadership team. Working closely with President Johnson, Moore will help coordinate institutional priorities, strengthen collaboration across college divisions, and provide leadership in areas including strategic communications, government and community relations, and executive operations. "Matt Moore has consistently demonstrated extraordinary leadership, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to student success throughout his tenure at Sinclair," said Dr. Steven Johnson, President & CEO at Sinclair. "His deep understanding of college operations, coupled with his collaborative approach and dedication to our institutional mission, makes him the ideal choice for this vital role."

With over two decades of dedicated experience in higher education administration, Moore brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and a proven track record of student-focused leadership to the President's Office. Since joining Sinclair in May 2013 as the Director of Financial Aid, Moore has spearheaded numerous transformational initiatives. Notably, Moore served as a core leader in designing and implementing the college's Welcome Center, a one-stop enrollment service model that revolutionized the student onboarding experience. Moore also co-led Sinclair's implementation of the U.S. Department of Education's Second Chance Pell Experimental Sites Initiative, expanding higher education access to thousands of incarcerated learners across Ohio.

Additionally, Moore demonstrated exceptional institutional leadership by serving as Sinclair's Interim Vice President of Student Development for the first half of 2025. "I'm excited for the opportunity to serve Sinclair in a new capacity and build on the relationships and experiences I've gained over the past 13 years," said Matt Moore. "I look forward to working more closely with colleagues across the college, supporting President Johnson, and helping advance the important work we do for our students and the community." Nationally recognized for his expertise in financial aid and higher education compliance, Moore holds a Master of Science in Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Dayton and a Bachelor of Music from Miami University.

Moore is also a Certified Financial Aid Administrator (FAAC®) and has held prominent leadership roles within the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), the Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA), and the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA). Dr. Johnson continued, "I look forward to working closely with Matt in this expanded capacity as we continue to advance Sinclair's goals for our students and the Dayton community." Moore will officially begin his transition into the Vice President & Chief of Staff role immediately.
