Premier Health and Sinclair Community College Partner to Create Academy to Prepare Employees for Rewarding Careers

Premier Health and Sinclair Community College have partnered to create education and career advancement opportunities for Premier Health employees. Premier Health is the first employer to work with Sinclair Community College to develop such a program. Premier Health and Sinclair are two of the largest civilian employers in the Dayton region. The goal of the academy is to upskill Premier Health employees as Sinclair students to create a national model to train critically needed health care personnel.

The Premier Health Sinclair Academy is designed to provide education, skills, and certificates employees need to advance in several career pathways, including nursing, respiratory care, medical imaging, surgical technology, pharmacy technology, paramedic, patient care technician, and medical assisting. In many cases, tuition expenses will be covered by a combination of funding sources, including financial aid and Premier Health tuition assistance benefits.

“Our new partnership with Sinclair promises to provide pathways to many rewarding and meaningful careers for Premier Health employees,” said Billie Lucente-Baker, vice president of talent strategy for Premier Health. “The academy will support the achievement of higher education and skills that employees need for promotion and/or advancement, and we will benefit by having a pipeline of skilled employees for in-demand jobs.”

The Premier Health Sinclair Academy will assist with organizational retention goals and will be a strong recruiting tool and differentiating reason for someone to choose Premier Health as his or her employer.

“Sinclair Community College is incredibly proud to partner with Premier Health on this innovative initiative that will support and guide individuals through their educational journey and prepare them with the vital skills they need for rewarding careers in healthcare,” said Dr. Steve Johnson, President & CEO – Sinclair Community College. “These relationships are crucial in our efforts to fulfill our mission of finding the need and endeavoring to meet it by providing exceptional education and opportunities for students while meeting the needs of employers.”
Through the Premier Health Sinclair Academy, employees will receive career, personal, and academic support including tuition assistance to complete a certificate or degree program at Sinclair Community College.  Sinclair has dedicated an employee specifically to the Premier Health Sinclair Academy to ensure employees have a smooth transition to their Sinclair program.
