Virtual Artist Talk with Katria Foster and Emily Wiethorn

We will be having a virtual artist talk with Katria Foster, whose work is showing in the Burnell R. Roberts Triangle Gallery, talking about “Domestic Affair,” along with Emily Wiethorn showing in the Works on Paper Gallery, talking about “The Death of You and Me”. These exhibitions are a part of the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial: The Long View.
Ruminating on themes of control, manipulation, and unquestioned social constructs, Katria Foster explores physical and mental aspects of the female perspective in “Domestic Affair.” While some images highlight a very specific memory, the ambiguity and mystery present throughout the photographs encourage viewers to insert their own narrative into her works.
As a survivor of sexual assault and abduction, Emily Wiethorn uses this body of photographs to speak her truth and feel the anger society says she must leave behind. “The Death of You and Me” is an examination of memory, suffering, and the effects of trauma as well as how one tells a story with no beginning, middle, or end.
The exhibitions will be on display from September 26–October 26, 2026. Galleries are located on the fourth floor of Building 13 (located at West Fifth and Perry Streets). The galleries are free and open to the public from 8am–6pm Monday–Friday and 9am–12pm Saturdays. Free and accessible parking is located in Parking Lot K.
