VET 2207 Veterinary Technical Practice III
Practicum course in which the student is paired with a screened veterinary practice in order to advance practical skills within a hospital setting. Included are observational experiences to large, laboratory, and exotic animal facilities to advance experience with a wide variety of animals. Ten (unpaid) practicum hours per week for 8 weeks in a Veterinary Practice. Student will be assigned to a suitable clinic in which they have not yet been placed.

Outcomes
- The student will complete the clinical skills assigned to them during this clinical experience. This will include up to 90% of the overall clinical skills required for completion of this degree. Skills will be completed with a score of 3 or better (out of 4) as defined by the rubrics.
- Observes client interaction and applies advanced effective communication patterns with clients and veterinary staff colleagues.
- The student will reflect on clinical experiences and communicate effectively with the instructor on topics relevant to their growth in the profession.
