PTA 1125 Functional Anatomy Lab

Application of human anatomy and clinical kinesiology with emphasis on integration of neuromusculoskeletal anatomy, physiology, physics principles and biomechanics in relationship to human movement. Six lab hours per week.

Outcomes

  • Students will accurately locate and palpate musculoskeletal, nervous, and hematologic structures on anatomical models and on the human body at an introductory level.
  • Students will be able to apply knowledge of functional anatomy concepts that are utilized when performing and interpreting data collection measures in physical therapy at an introductory level.
  • Students will utilize information literacy and problem-solving / critical thinking in working through Critical Thinking application questions, as noted through thorough and descriptive documentation and verbalization, at an introductory level.
  • Students will be able to apply physical laws, kinesiological concepts, and biomechanical principles to human motion, using case-based scenarios, at an introductory level.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate behaviors related to ethics, values, responsibilities, and professional communication in the healthcare environment at an introductory level.
