CAT 1660 Coatings & Sealants
An in depth lecture series on the properties and application of coatings, sealants, and adhesives, combined with a series of lab exercises. The course will cover the following: applying construction adhesives; using sealants such as siliconized acrylic caulk and silicone; applying penetrating stains; applying oil based sealants such as shellac, lacquer, and primer; painting walls, ceilings and trim with latex paint products; and maintaining and cleaning accoutrements. One classroom, two lab hours per week.
