October 6, 2025 – Upcoming Student Communication: eLearn is Getting a Glow Up

Hello everyone,

As a courtesy to you and your offices, we wanted to share that the student communication campaign for the LMS Migration Project — eLearn is Getting a Glow Up! — is officially launching next week.

Attached you will find a copy of the email that will be sent to active students, defined as those who have been enrolled in at least one course within the past two years (excluding AJT and College of Lifelong Learning students). In addition to the email, a global news announcement in eLearn will complement this message.

We're sharing this first message so you and your teams feel prepared to answer questions about the transition from D2L to Canvas. At this stage, our goal is simply to inform students that a change is coming. There is nothing students need to do during the fall term.

We also invite you and members of your team to engage with the LMS Migration by:

  • Following the project's progress and accessing helpful resources at www.sinclair.edu/canvas.
  • Attending our Checkpoint Chats for regular project updates and insights.
  • Submitting questions or feedback through our one-question survey to help shape future communication efforts.

Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth and informed transition to Canvas. Your partnership is vital to the success of this migration.

Thank you,
The eLearning Division

Subject: eLearn is Getting a Glow Up!

Hello students,

Exciting news — eLearn is getting a Glow Up! Starting Summer 2026, eLearn will have a brand-new look and feel because it will be powered by Canvas, one of the leading learning platforms.

Here’s what to know right now:

  • Same name, fresh design. You’ll still log in to eLearn the same way, but it will look different, be easier to navigate, and give you more tools to support your success.
  • No action needed this fall. Keep using eLearn as usual. We’ll guide you through changes when the time comes.
  • Spring 2026 pilot courses. A few classes will try out the new system early. If you’re in one of them, you’ll get direct support to make the transition smooth.
  • Training and resources ahead. Before the full launch, you’ll have access to training, tips, and support to help you feel confident in the updated eLearn.

More updates are on the way! Until then, keep glowing — explore details at www.sinclair.edu/canvas or drop your thoughts in our one-question survey to help guide upcoming student communications.
