June 30, 2025 - We're Moving to Canvas! New LMS Coming to Sinclair

Dear Campus Colleagues,

We’re excited to announce that Canvas has been selected as Sinclair’s next Learning Management System (LMS)!

This decision follows many months of evaluation and campus engagement, and we’re confident Canvas will provide a modern, intuitive platform to support excellence in teaching, learning, and student success across all areas of the college.

While the transition to Canvas will take time, our work begins now:

• A Migration Steering Committee will be formed this summer, along with subcommittees focused on training, communication, technical integration, and design templates.
• We will remain on D2L through July 1, 2026, ensuring ample time for planning, training, and support.
• Sinclair will participate in a supported migration with Canvas, providing tools, resources, and guided services to ease the transition for faculty, staff, and students.

This is an exciting step forward for Sinclair—and we can’t wait to build this next chapter together.
