June 16, 2026 – Download Your D2L Badges Before June 30

Hello Mary,

As Sinclair began using Canvas for Summer Term courses, our previous learning management system, D2L Brightspace, entered its final phase and will no longer be available after June 30.

If there is any content from D2L that you would like to keep for your personal records, now is the time to download it.

Once D2L Brightspace is retired, students will no longer have access to:

  • Assignment submissions
  • Discussion posts and replies
  • Quiz and test results
  • Instructor feedback and grading comments
  • Course grades and progress records
  • Badges and awards

Importantly, badges will not transfer to Canvas. If you earned badges in D2L that you would like to keep for your personal records, now is the time to download them.

How to Save Your Badges

  1. Log in to D2L at scc-elearn.brightspace.com.
  2. Open any of your courses.
  3. Click User Progress in the course navigation bar.
  4. Select the Awards tab.
  5. Click Share on the badge you would like to save and choose your preferred method.

Since launching this summer, Canvas has become Sinclair’s new home for online learning, offering a modern, user-friendly experience that makes it easier to access course materials and stay organized.
