Name, Address and Telephone Number Changes

If you have not attended Sinclair within the last 2 years you are required to fill out an application to update information.

To Update Home Address,  Cell number/Text Authorization, Personal Email :

  1. Log into Sinclair Portal
  2. Once logged in, click Enrollement then select Colleague Self Service
  3. Click your username, in the top right corner and select User Profile
  4. Update necessary information
    1. To update Address: click Add New Address, once submitted this will be reviewed and updated.  A confirmation email will be sent once updated.
    2. To update Email Addresses (only pesonal): click edit or remove.  If one does not exist, click Add New Email
    3. To update Phone Numbers (only cell): click edit or remove.  If one does not exist, click Add New Phone   (email registration@sinclair.edu to update Home Phone if not a Cell Phone)
    4. To Authorize/Unauthorize Text: Edit Cell and check or uncheck Text Autorized.  (a check indicates Sinclair is Authorized to text)

Updating your address may affect residency.  A change of address does not change a student's residency to a lower tuition status. Student must make separate application. Click here for information about change of residency for tuition purposes.

To Update a Legal Name Change:

Email the Registration and Student Records Office at registration@sinclair.edu.   Valid documentation (list below) is required and can be submitted:

  1. Electronically: Through my.sinclair.edu, Secure Document Upload and select Registration and Student Records
  2. In person:  Present Phone identification and required documentation at one of Sinclair's campuses.
  3. Email (unsecure): attached to the email requesting the legal name change.

      Documentation Required for Name Change:

  • Marriage: Copy of Driver's License/State Id with new name
  • Divorce: Copy of divorce decree, court entry or order of legal name change
  • Legal Name Change: Court order of legal name change

Sinclair does have the option to add a Chosen First Name/Pronoun that does not require documentation.

Veterans must report the change to the Veterans Office, Building 10, Room 444.

*No documentation is required if going from middle initial to middle name or vice versa.
