Cap and Gown Pick-up

If you ordered regalia through Sinclair, it will be available for pick up Tuesday, April 30 through Thursday, May 2, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Campus Store located on the first floor of Building 7 on the Dayton Campus. Please contact the Bookstore at 937-512-2665 or campusstore@sinclair.edu with any questions.

Parking and Processional Line Up

  • Please be sure to arrive at the University of Dayton Arena by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3. 
  • Please enter GATE C and park at the back of the Arena, past the loading dock. PARKING MAP
  • Report to the LOADING DOCK entrance at the back of the arena dressed in your regalia.
  • YOU WILL BE GOING THROUGH A METAL DETECTOR THIS YEAR. Please visit the UD Arena Security webpage for accepted and prohibited items.
  • The Processional will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. Please line up and process through the arena in pairs. Line up IN FRONT OF or BEHIND  the person you would like to sit next to in the arena. When walking down the center aisle, do not leave large gaps between pairs. Tassels are worn on the left side of the cap.

The Ceremony 

The Processional for Faculty and Staff will be led by Jennifer Romero, President of the Faculty Senate, and Mary Wells, President of the Department Chair’s Council. The faculty and staff will be seated in Sections 108 and 109 behind the stage. The rows of seating will be filled from the bottom up.

  • Faculty members will be asked to stand along with graduates as the degrees are conferred. Provost Tony Ponder will prompt faculty, staff and graduates; please listen carefully for his instructions.
  • At the end of the ceremony, faculty and staff will exit through doors behind sections 108 and 109.
  • Please remember that any regalia purchased for you is yours to take home and maintain for future commencement ceremonies.

Accessibility Services

If processing down the arena stairs is a health or safety concern for you, you may take a seat in section 108/109 prior to the start of the ceremony.
