Description: First half of the mandated Ohio Attorney General/Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy training for individuals to attain certification as peace officers in Ohio law enforcement agencies. Consists of mandated cognitive and psychomotor skills training for entry level Ohio law enforcement officers.

Prerequisites: DEV 0035 and Other (Other Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) fingerprint checks, a successful nine panel drug screening and successful physical fitness assessment required as well as permission and signature of the Sinclair Community College Training Academy Coordinator.)

Description: In English Composition I students learn reflective, analytical and argumentative writing strategies, incorporating sources and personal experience. Students will negotiate between public and private rhetorical situations and purposes to achieve academic literacy. They will write multiple drafts using a recursive writing process as they work toward fluency in style and mechanics.

Prerequisites: DEV 0035 or Other (Placement Test Score)

Description: University-parallel course covering history and systems of psychology, behavioral research methods, physiology of behavior, sensation, perception, learning, memory, consciousness, cognition, personality, lifespan development, gender, social psychology, motivation, emotion, stress, mental disorders and therapies.

Notes: Program elective. Choose from the following courses: PSY-1100 OR SOC-1101
