Syed Uddin

Syed UddinCan you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Syed Uddin, I am a software engineer working at Meijer, Inc. I graduated from Sinclair in 2016 with an associate’s degree in business. After that I finished my bachelor’s in accounting from Miami University. I then went to Wright State University, where I completed my master’s in computer science.

What inspired you to pursue your career path, and how did Sinclair help you get there?

Sinclair offered a wide range of classes which helped me be successful in doing my bachelors. All the professors I had were really passionate about teaching and caring for their students.

How would you describe the impact Sinclair had on your life, both in and out of the classroom?

Sinclair gave me the confidence that I could study and achieve great things in life.

How has your definition of success changed from when you were a Sinclair student to now?

When I was a student, the definition of success for me was getting good grades in classes to transfer to a 4-year college. Now the definition of success for me is to make a difference in people's lives through work or personal interactions.

What is one piece of advice that you would give to current Sinclair students?

One piece of advice that I would give to the current students would be to take advantage of your professors’ office hours. They try their best to help their students.
