Can you tell us a little about yourself? My name is Pam Fultz, and I earned my Associate of Arts in communications from Sinclair Community College in 1994. I also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wright State University and a Master of Science degree in corporate and organizational communications from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. I currently serve as the Senior Community Relations Manager of Vi at Bentley Village, in Naples, Florida. In this position, I lead the development, execution, and evaluation of effective marketing and public relations strategies and tactics to increase referrals, lead generation, and sales for the local Vi community. I also host a company podcast and oversee media relations efforts and training for all community relations managers in the Vi portfolio. In addition to this, I am an adjunct lecturer for the University of Florida and Northeastern University.
Sinclair provided me with the opportunity for an internship in news broadcasting which launched me into a 12-year career in the field. At the end of the internship at a radio station, I was offered a full-time job!
Sinclair offered me the chance to enhance my communications skills, from interviewing to writing, and to get hands-on training that allowed me to move into my chosen career field prior to graduation. Sinclair gave me an affordable option to pursue my education which otherwise would have been financially out of reach.
When I was a young student at Sinclair, I measured success in terms of professional achievement and financial gain. As the years have passed, I have learned that true success for me is being able to support the people, organizations, and institutions (like Sinclair) that have shaped me. I am honored to get the opportunity to make a positive impact on society, pursuing my goals and passions, while making a difference and creating smiles. In my current professional roles, this means telling the stories of veterans at the senior living community where I work and supporting students in the graduate programs in which I teach.
My mom always told me that if I could envision it, I could do it. Stay positive and do not give up on your dreams. Set goals and take steps each day to achieve them. Never stop learning!
