Krissy Strode

Krissy StrodeCan you tell us a little about yourself?

I’m a proud Sinclair alum, Class of 2013, where I studied Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) and discovered my love for electronics and troubleshooting. I spent 8 years as a Test Engineer in the Aerospace and Electronics industry, 2 years in the robotics field, and now I own a creative business where I bring people’s visions to life through stunning visuals. My journey has been one of growth, evolution, and living my passions!

What inspired you to pursue your career path, and how did Sinclair help you get there?

A Women in Engineering Day in middle school sparked my interest in engineering—especially when I made a makeshift flashlight during an EET session. That moment ignited a passion for problem-solving and creativity that never left me, and Sinclair equipped me with hands-on experience and expert guidance to turn that passion into a thriving career. From aerospace to robotics and beyond, every step has been fueled by the foundation I built at Sinclair.

How would you describe the impact Sinclair had on your life, both in and out of the classroom?

Sinclair was truly a launchpad for me. The classroom taught me invaluable technical skills, and the co-op program connected me with my first engineering job just a week after graduation. Beyond academics, Sinclair helped me build a strong foundation for a fulfilling career and a lifetime of achievement.

How has your definition of success changed from when you were a Sinclair student to now?

As a student, I saw success as landing a great job in my field. Now, success means creating a fulfilling life where I can grow, innovate, and help others capture their dreams. It’s about purpose, impact, and staying inspired every step of the way.

What is one piece of advice that you would give to current Sinclair students?

Take advantage of every opportunity Sinclair offers—whether it’s the co-op program, networking events, or tapping into the expertise of your professors and counselors for guidance. A special shoutout to Professor Jack Steinmetz for helping EET principles truly click for me and shaping my understanding of the field! You never know which experience will open the door to your next big step. Stay curious, stay adaptable, and always believe in your potential!
