Scholar Path Program Requirements

Once a student has been admitted to the Scholars Path Program they must complete all of the required tasks listed below. It is strongly suggested that all requirements be completed BEFORE the student's last semester at Sinclair.

Honors Classes (4) – Students must successfully complete 4 Honors Classes. These class DO NOT have to be taken in the same semester. They just need to be completed before your last semester at Sinclair. One course should be interdisciplinary.

Please Note: For Global Scholars - two of the four must be from the list of courses required in the Global Studies Certificate. See website: Global Studies Certificate. Honors/Global Scholars work submitted in those courses will be part of the Global Scholars Portfolio.

Honors Experiences (4) - Honors experiences may consist of certain Sinclair Talks presentations, pre-approved honors excursions, approved talks presented by academic institutions, Sinclair plays, Sinclair choral presentations and other Sinclair theater experiences. After attending the event, the student must write a one page reflection paper about their experience. Other experiences may be considered, Honors Scholars should send their Honors experience proposals to honorsprogram@sinclair.edu.

Service Learning or Community Service Project - Students will perform unpaid community service as part of a selected Honors course or on their own. Students seeking help in choosing a service project are encouraged to contact Sinclair's Service Learning office. Whether the student chooses to do Service Learning or Community Service a Service Learning Agreement and a Service Learning/Community Service Report must be completed.

All of these items are to be compiled into an Honors Scholar Portfolio. This can be a hard copy (in a binder) or done through the ePortfolio option in the Honors eLearn Community.
