  • Association with Wittenberg University for conducting liberal arts courses is discontinued
  • First basketball game is played at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds
  • Nu Pi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa national honor society begun
1965 Sinclair Community College created as the public community college for Montgomery County
1966
  • Site for new campus is selected
  • One-mill ten-year levy approved
  • March 17 - Charter presented to Board Chair Vince Blair by Governor James A. Rhodes
1967
  • Edward Durell Stone and Associates chosen as architect for the new campus
  • Creative Writing Workshops begin
  • Marvin Knudson becomes Sinclair Community College President
  • Former President Chester Bussey becomes the first Provost
1969
  • Sinclair approved for membership in the Ohio College Association
  • Ground broken for the new campus on August 22
1970
  • Sinclair receives accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools
  • Helen Peterson becomes the first faculty member to attain the rank of Professor
  • Former President Chester Bussey retires
1972
  • Sinclair Community College moves to its new 7-building, 20-acre campus at 444 West Third Street
  • Fall Quarter - first classes are held at the new campus
