LGBTQ+ Dayton Scholarship Resources

  • Betsy Frabotta Educate and Engage Scholarship for Q+ Youth by the Dayton Foundation
    • Criteria
      • Be a current resident of the Miami Valley (Preference will be given to a Dayton Public School graduate)
      • Be accepted or currently enrolled in an accredited two-or four-year college, university or trade school as a full-time student
      • Have a history of academic success including engagement in clubs, organizations, community-wide efforts, etc. that demonstrates diverse approaches and opportunities for learning
      • Should be currently and actively involved in at least one of the following: membership in a campus or community based LGBTQ+ or supportive organization; volunteer advocate in LGBTQ+ or other equity seeking group; or be a vocal and proactive activist on issues related marginalized identities
      • Financial need may be used as a tiebreaker
    • $2,000
    • Deadline: March 8, 2024
       
  • RubiGirls Scholarship by the Dayton Foundation
    • Criteria
      • Applicants must be a current resident of the Miami Valley
      • Be accepted or currently attending an accredited two-or four-year college, university or trade school as a full-time student
      • Demonstrate academic success
      • To foster a positive image of LGBTQ+ people and their allies, applicants should be involved in at least one of the following: be actively involved in a campus or community based LGBTQ+ or related organization; be a volunteer in LGBTQ+ or AIDS/HIV organization; or be an advocate on issues related to LGBTQ+ people
      • Financial need may be used as a tiebreaker
    • $2,500
    • Deadline: March 8, 2024
       
  • PFLAG Dayton LGBTQ and Ally Scholarship
    • Criteria
      • All applicants must be seventeen (17) years or older by the application deadline
      • Be a graduate of a high school in the Miami Valley
      • Be accepted to or currently attending an accredited two-or four-year college, university or trade school for at least 9 credits per semester
      • Demonstrate participation and leadership in community activities with integrity and honesty
      • To foster a positive image of LGBTQ+ people and their allies, applicants should be involved in at least one of the following: Be actively involved in a campus or community based LGBTQ+ or related organization OR
      • Be a volunteer in LGBTQ+ or AIDS/HIV organization or Be an advocate on issues related to LGBTQ+ people
    • $1,000
    • Deadline: March 8, 2024
       
  • Valley View Schools – Dean and Jeanine Stiver Community Kindness Scholarship by the Dayton Foundation
    • Criteria
      • Be a graduating senior from Valley View High School
      • Be accepted to an accredited two-year, four-year, technical school or college or university
      • Have successful experience being employed or volunteering/community services
      • Financial need will be considered if all else is equal
      • Preference will be given to a student who identifies as LGBTQ+ or be an ally
    • $1,000
