Welcome to Sinclair's Theatre Department. For many years, "finding the need and endeavoring to meet it" has been a way of life at Sinclair Community College. Sinclair's Theatre Department seeks to do just that by providing quality education from a faculty and staff of professionals in the areas of performance and theatre technology.
As one of the few community college theatre departments in the country to perform at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre National Festival (KCACTF), we offer our students and our fellow community members quality theatre education and rewarding production experiences. Whether you enroll in the university parallel program, participate in one of our many productions, or simply take a single class, you can expect to have an enriching and positive experience at Sinclair.

The World Is Yours… Take Stage with Sinclair Theatre
Sinclair’s Theatre department provides you with a quality education and hands-on experiences. Our faculty and staff are professionals in the areas of performance and theatre technology. This means you will have the opportunity to work with people who are current in theatrical fields and have many contacts to assist you.
This program might be for you if:
You aspire to work in theatre, film or other creative environments.
You are interested in learning more about performing on stage including skills in voice, movement, character development and auditioning.
You are interested in learning more about the technical, behind-the-scenes aspects of theatre, including costuming, make-up, lighting, sound, scenery and stage management.
You would like to gain confidence in communication and presentations.

The theatre performance degree is designed as a university-parallel program for students to transfer to four-year institutions. The faculty and staff are theatre professionals with extensive experience in acting, directing, playwriting and choreography. Curriculum is based on skills required to enhance students' performance including: voice, movement, character and script analysis, dance, auditioning and presentation. Successful students achieve real-world experience participating in our theatre productions in several performance venues. Students must pass all THE courses with a grade of C or better. As part of this degree program, students must complete the requirements of the Ohio Transfer 36 in order to graduate.

The theater technology degree is designed as a university-parallel program for students to transfer to four-year institutions. The faculty and staff are theater professionals with extensive experience in design and technology including: scenic, lighting, costumes, props, make-up/hair, sound, directing and stage management. Curriculum is based on skills required to enhance students technical skills including: stage craft, lighting and costume fundamentals, make-up, stage management, script analysis, and portfolio. Successful students achieve real-world experience participating in our theater productions in several performance venues. Students must pass all THE courses with a grade of C or better. As part of this degree program, students must complete the requirements of the Ohio Transfer 36 in order to graduate.
