The purpose of this publication is to inform eligible students with disabilities of their right to an accessible educational setting and to answer some anticipated questions about policies and procedures of Accessibility Services at Sinclair Community College.

Workforce Recruitment

Workforce Recruitment Program was developed to recruit individuals with a qualifying disability (or veterans) for Federal or Federal contracted positions. This is an ideal opportunity for students who are ready for an internship, within 1-2 semesters of graduation, or within 1 year after graduation. How to Get Started

Getting started with our department takes only three easy steps:

1. Apply

You must apply with the department in order to receive services. You can do this by:

  • Calling the department at 937-512-5113 (V) or 937-701-6784 (TTY)
  • Visiting the department office on Sinclair’s Dayton Campus
  • Emailing the Accessibility Services Manager Alicia Schroeder, at

You must provide documentation verifying your disability. Click on the links below to download versions of the departmental forms. Completed forms can be returned to the Accessibility Services office.

2. Meet with a Counselor

After applying, you will be scheduled for an intake appointment with a Accessibility Services Counselor.

3. Request Services

This can be done by seeing your counselor during the first week of the semester with your course schedule. You must request services for each term individually. *Academic adjustments such as audio textbooks and computer adaptations may take significant lead time to be ready in time for effective use. 4. Read and Write Gold Literacy Software

Read & Write Gold literacy software makes the web, documents and files more accessible - any time, any place, and on any platform or device. It's great for people with dyslexia and other learning difficulties, or anyone whose first language isn't English.

From reading on-screen text aloud to researching and checking written work, Read & Write makes lots of everyday tasks easier. It’s a big confidence booster for anyone who needs a little extra help with their reading and writing, at school or in the workplace.

Steps to Install
  • Visit the link
  • You will be asked to enter your Tartan ID and Password
  • Select either the Windows or Mac version
