Commencement

+ Will we still be having graduation?

Following guidance and directives from Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health, Sinclair will cancel its commencement ceremony that was scheduled to be held May 3 of this year at the University of Dayton Arena. The college is working through efforts to make sure that students have every possible opportunity to complete courses and credentials through distance learning.

Though we are canceling this event, we will consider rescheduling the 2020 graduation for another time in the future. If we are able to reschedule, if it is practical to reschedule and we are able to do so, we will. However, we will wait to see for now. We will wait to see when the “all clear” for large gatherings is given, and when we can possibly reschedule this graduation ceremony.

We recognize that cancelling commencement has a large impact on our student and graduates. We are so proud of your accomplishments and want to recognize you for all of your hard work. Students graduating with an associate degree will receive a package in the mail that will likely include the following:

  • Congratulatory Letter – This letter will contain information about viewing an online tribute video featuring President Steve Johnson and instructions for posting a photo to social media.
  • Diploma Cover – The traditional diploma cover for the credential issued to Sinclair graduates.
