According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and State of Ohio and local health experts, face coverings help reduce the spread of COVID-19 by limiting other’s exposure to large aerosol droplets released by exhaling, speaking, singing, coughing, or sneezing.
Beginning Wednesday, August 4, 2021, all persons, COVID-vaccinated and COVID-unvaccinated, while within Sinclair campus buildings should wear a mask/face covering and maintain six foot distance from others, with exceptions granted in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health and other official health organization guidelines.
Exceptions to mask wearing while within Sinclair buildings can be made on a case-by-case basis in cases where persons are alone at Sinclair in an enclosed office or similar space; or when the physical spacing in any given room is beyond six feet between persons and the room capacity is less than 25% of the rated fire code.
COVID-vaccinated persons are required to wear masks and PPE as required in healthcare education, related clinicals, labs, and/or other educational programs per guidelines and requirements for personal protective equipment of each respective program.
If you have a documented medical condition that aligns with the allowable CDC circumstances for not wearing a mask, please contact Human Resources (employees) at 937-512-2514 or the Accessibility Office (students) at 937-512-5113. While Sinclair works with you to find a solution, it is likely that you will be given an alternative assignment or work arrangement away from Sinclair campuses.
Masks must be worn outdoors when physical distancing of at least six feet cannot be achieved or maintained.
Everyone coming to a Sinclair campus is expected to provide their own masks or face coverings. These face coverings may include cloth face masks, bandanas, or disposable masks.
Faculty will have access to masks in each classroom for students that do not have them. SIOs and Sinclair Police officers will have masks for those who come to campus without a mask.
Do not come to campus without a mask. The mask requirement is for the safety of all Sinclair faculty, staff, students, and their families. It is important that this precaution be taken seriously by the entire Sinclair community.
