Health Monitoring

Daily Personal Temperature Check

Before arriving at any Sinclair campus, center, or facility, all employees and students must conduct a daily health check of themselves. The health check includes temperature taking and symptom monitoring.

Any employee or student with a temperature above 100 degrees experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms, e.g. fever, cough, or shortness of breath, should not come to work (class) on campus or if on campus, should leave immediately.

COVID-19 Reporting

Any employee, student, or campus visitor with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, or who has been in close contact with another individual who has a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 should contact your instructor, supervisor, or account manager, and complete Sinclair's COVID Intake Form. The Department of Public Safety will contact the applicable public health authorities to determine what steps, Sinclair should take next, including assisting with contract tracing.

Any employee, student, or campus visitor must complete Sinclair's COVID Intake Form if they fall into any of the following categories:

  • Have had a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis or been in close contact with another individual who has a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis. Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 48 hours before the illness onset until the time the patient is isolated.
  • Have symptoms or illness, a temperature above 100 degrees, or otherwise believe that you are contagious with COVID-19.
  • Believe they have COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19.

COVID-19 Exposure Notification Procedure and Flow Charts

COVID-19 Contact Tracing

Sinclair will inform other employees of their possible exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace, as directed by public health authorities. The identity of the infected employee will be held confidential by Sinclair.

Facility Cleaning after Contact with a Positive COVID-19 Case

In the event of confirmed cases of COVID-19, Sinclair will:

  • Deep clean specific areas when an employee, student, or visitor who has been on campus within the prior 14 days is identified as being COVID-19 positive by testing.
  • Sinclair may also choose to have deep cleaning performed for presumed cases.
  • In the case of a confirmed illness, the employee’s supervisor or Human Resources should contact Service Control at extension 937-512-3090 to initiate the process for deep cleaning.
  • Employee work areas may be relocated during the deep cleaning process.

If I am Sick...

Anyone with a temperature above 100 degrees experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms, e.g. fever, cough, or shortness of breath, should not come to work/class on campus, or if on campus, should leave immediately. Call your health care provider and follow instructions.

Employees

Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms while at work, will be sent home and the workspace will be immediately cleaned. Other employees in the same area will be relocated or sent home.

Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should seek guidance from a physician or other qualified health care provider and should not come to work if the physician/health care provider so directs.

Anyone who does not come to work on campus, or who leaves campus for any of these reasons, must notify their supervisor as soon as possible. The employee must also follow all standard procedures for reporting illness/absence/request for leave.

If the employee is physically able to work, the supervisor will determine whether the employee can work remotely until released to return to work.

An employee who is off work for 5 or more consecutive days due to illness must provide a release to return to work provided by a physician/health care provider.  Please refer to the COVID-19 Information page on the Human Resource website via My.Sinclair for information regarding Workplace Policies related to COVID-19 or email hrdept@sinclair.edu.

When Can I Return to Sinclair After Being COVID-19 Positive?

If an employee or student tests positive for COVID-19, they cannot return to campus for work or class until the following criteria are met:

  • At least 5 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.
  • At least 5 days have passed since your last positive test if you are asymptomatic.
  • At least 24 hours have passed since recovery, defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath).

COVID Testing

Important Testing Note

Please note CompuNet Clinical Laboratories, our COVID testing partner, is continuing to experience supply disruption across its network. As a result, Sinclair will not be providing on-campus COVID testing the week of 1/17/2022.

As an alternative, the OnMain COVID Testing Site (old Fairgrounds) is available as an alternative location. Important items to know when visiting the OnMain Testing Site include the following:

  1. Review the OnMain COVID Testing Handout for information regarding process, location, and hours. As a reminder, OnMain services are available on the noted hours Monday—Friday.
  2. Complete the COVID Antigen Testing Form and present it at OnMain for your testing. THIS FORM NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED AND TURNED IN FOR TESTING AT ONMAIN. This service can still be accessed by Sinclair employees, family members living in the same household, or students taking one or more F2F classes. Complete the form as you would for on-campus testing.
  3. Test results will be available to you within three hours through MYLABSNOW. You will be given information at OnMain about how to establish a MYLABSNOW account if you do not already have one.

We will continue to work closely with CompuNet Clinical Laboratories regarding when on-campus testing again becomes viable. We are hoping our on-campus capability will return the week of 1/24/2022. Please check this site—and your Sinclair email—regularly for testing updates.
