Proficiency Testing

Proficiency exams are institutionally developed tests and projects directly aligned with the course objectives of Sinclair courses. Students are able to review the master syllabus of the course they are interested in testing for, and speak with the departmental faculty regarding content. Test cost varies by course with the majority of tests costing less than one credit hour tuition: $65. Students must meet all course prerequisites to be eligible for a proficiency test. Interested students are encouraged to talk about eligibility and options with their academic advisor. Visit the Sinclair Proficiency Tests by Course page for a list of courses available for proficiency testing. Students who live more than 60 miles from Sinclair's downtown Dayton campus are also able to test through proctored testing. A Master Syllabus for each course can be found through the Online Schedule Planner.
