5k Hunger Walk

When Hunger Strikes...We Strike Back!

All proceeds benefit the Lunchtime Hunger Project. The Lunchtime Hunger Project is sponsored by the Dietetics & Nutrition, Hospitality, and Social Work Clubs for the purpose of addressing food insecurity on the Sinclair campus. The goal is to help students meet their basic needs by providing a free, healthy lunch accompanied by educational resources on how to prepare and purchase tasty, nutritious, and affordable food on a budget.

The number of students receiving the weekly service continues to climb.  Both student clubs conduct fundraising activities to support the expenses of the project (food items, meal tickets and supplies). Helping to meet students’ basic needs enhances student success and furthers educational aspirations.  It allows students to turn their dreams into achievable goals.  The Lunchtime Hunger Project motivates student club members to help and serve others supporting the original vision of David Sinclair “Find the need and endeavor to meet it.”
