Sinclair Falls to Cincinnati State

Dayton, OH – Sinclair Women's basketball team knew they needed to be firing on all cylinders to pull off the upset of the second ranked team in the land, Cincinnati State. Sinclair played well in the first ten minutes and at times held a couple leads. But the half closed with The Tartan Pride in a little foul trouble and Cincinnati went into half with a 36-27 lead. The Lady pride shot well from the field at 45% and 100% from the three point line but turnovers kept them from closing the gap.

In the second half The Lady Pride would make a big run to close Cincinnati's lead to just four, 58-55. But, in final several minutes, Sinclair could not make key free throws and again turnovers would end their hopes. On the night, Sinclair would turn the ball over 34 times.

Leading the way for Sinclair were two sophomore players, Brandi McDaniel (Franklin H.S.) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Katie Von Lehmden (Fort Jennings H.S.) with 14 points. The Lady Pride dropped to 13-11 overall and stand at 4-6 in OCCAC play.

Sinclair's next home game will be on Saturday, February 25, as both Men and Women play OCCAC opponent Cuyahoga Community College from Cleveland. It will be Sinclair's final regular season home game as The Pride will honor all their second year players.

Game Time on Saturday will be 2:00 PM. The games will be played at the downtown campus in Building 8.
