Health Record Technician (HRT.S.STC)

The Health Record Technician Certificate prepares students for entry-level employment in a medical or mental health office environment performing scheduling, filing, data-entry, faxing, and monitoring patient appointments. The program is designed to develop knowledge and understanding of medical language and documentation.
Prerequisites: Other (Only students enrolled in the Advanced Job Training Program within the participating institutions may enroll in this certificate programming.)
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving, and information literacy.
- Identify the importance of and maintain health record documentation within the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correctional health care system.
- Demonstrate personal behaviors, attitudes and values consistent with a health care professional.
