Attend DAYMUNC

If you are interested in attending DAYMUNC 2024, email the Secretary General at secgen.daymunc@gmail.com.

Welcome:

Hello MUNers,

This year at DAYMUNC, I will be serving as your Co-Secretary General alongside of Rama Shtaieh and I’m excited to welcome you all to the conference! I got my undergraduate degree in industrial and systems engineering and am currently pursuing my master’s degree in biomedical engineering while doing motoneuron research at Wright State University (WSU).

My relationship with the United Nations (UN) goes way back. It began in Vienna, Austria in 2017 under AIESEC which is a youth-run non-governmental non-profit UN organization. There, I lead my own team to create cross-cultural internships and global volunteer and exchange opportunities. And as many of you know, once you get involved in the UN, a part of you always belongs to it. I came to WSU to continue my studies and looking for a way to continue being a global citizen I joined MUN. This marks my 4th year as a MUNer. I have been a part of many committees including UN Environmental Assembly, Security Council, Human Rights Council, and General Assembly 3, and have participated in DAYMUNC and NMUN New York.

At the end MUN did more than making me a global citizen. I had amazing mentors and advisors, I gained beautiful friendships, and professionally it made me a better leader, a public speaker, and an engineer with a broader world view. I’m happy you are all a part of this conference and I know you will have similar if not even better experiences. Best of luck preparing and don’t forget to have fun!

Looking forward to meeting you all,
Hanzade Aslan
Co-Secretary General
DAYMUNC XXXI

Hello!

My name is Rama Shtaieh, and I have the pleasure of serving as one of the Co-Secretary Generals for DAYMUNC XXXI. I completed my undergraduate degree at Wright State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Legal Studies. I recently obtained a Master of Arts from Wright State in International and Comparative Politics.

This will be my fourth year participating in Model United Nations (MUN) and aside from the incredible connections and friends I have made, MUN has taught me some of the most valuable skills I have. During my time as a delegate, I have had the opportunity to represent the United Kingdom on the United Nations Environmental Assembly, and Jordan on the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization at the National Conference in New York. I have also represented Saudi Arabia on the United Nations Industrial Developmental Organization and France on the Security Council at DAYMUNC. I have also had the opportunity to staff as chair for the Security Council at DAYMUNC XXX and director of the Security Council for Wright States first annual High School Conference. Lastly, I had the opportunity to serve as one of the Co-Head Delegates for the Wright State MUN team, which allowed me to mentor new and returning delegates in preparation for upcoming conferences.

MUN has given me some valuable insight into the world and has helped shape who I am today, and it is my hope you all have similar experiences as you can utilize these skills in any career path and hopefully have as much fun participating as I have. I look forward to working with you all and to seeing what you will come up with alongside your fellow delegates.

Sincerely,
Rama Shtaieh
Co-Secretary General
DAYMUNC XXXI
