Equitrac is the pay-for-print system at Sinclair Community College.
Equitrac will require students, faculty and staff to logon to the computers with their usernames and passwords and use funds from their free prints or Tartan Cards to print in select computer labs.
Equitrac is a pay-for-print system that was implemented in order to meet the many challenges labs face when dealing with printing issues. Some of these include:
- Waste issues such as users printing large documents they don’t need or printing documents multiple times
- Increasing supply costs
- The need to keep up-to-date with printing technologies
Note: Many labs have double-sided (duplex) printing as a default. Please look at the "Page Setup" to determine if the printer is printing double-sided or single-sided.
-
Sinclair is not responsible to refund free prints if it is a printing mistake (printed duplex instead of single-sided).
-
Sinclair will only refund free prints for a printing problem (printer jam, streak...).
Issues, Please Note: When printing double-sided (duplex) jobs with an odd number of pages in Microsoft Word 2007 and in Internet Explorer, both programs have an error that rounds the number of pages up by one. This results in an added cost of an extra $.04 due to the Microsoft error
To help offset the printing fees, Sinclair provides students with $7.50 in free prints (the equivalent of 150 pages of 8 ½ x 11 single-sided black and white pages) every term in the Equitrac system.
