Non-Violence Crisis Intervention Process

Addressing Student Behavior Problems

The Department of Counseling Services has the primary and initial responsibility for any non-violent crisis situation that occurs on the Sinclair Community College campus and is not criminal in nature or a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.  The counseling staff can be contacted by campus police, students, staff, or faculty when a non-violent crisis situation arises.

They will be available on an as-needed basis.

The Counseling Services Department will provide coverage for any non-violent crisis situation during the following hours:

                        Monday through Thursday - 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

                        Friday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

                        Summer hours (June-September): 8:00-4:30 p.m.

The Campus Police would need to handle situations during any other hours.  When the Counseling Services department is closed after 7:00 p.m., then Campus Police would be contacted.
