ACADEMIC RESOURCE CENTER

Description

Each student begins the ARC process by taking a computerized pre-assessment that measures current mastery of math, reading and/or writing. The Plato system develops a plan that will take the student from initial placement to college level through tutorials, print activities and mastery tests. As the students work through the Plato curriculum, they are increasing their academic skills and therefore improving their ability to succeed on the college placement test, which at Sinclair is Accuplacer. Students receive individualized instruction through Plato and with the assistance of the ARC facilitators, they work through the modules in all three subjects. The ARC is provided at no cost to students.
