TReg (Telephone Registration System)

How to use TReg

Critical information that you will need to use TReg is available only in the current quarterly class schedule or on the web schedule (current class schedule). You must have the seven-digit course synonym number for each class that you wish to add or to drop from your schedule. Course synonym numbers change quarterly!

Who is Eligible to Use Telephone Registration?

  • Anyone who has been enrolled in the last 12 months and is in good academic standing.  Students who have not been enrolled in the last 12 months must complete an updated application for admission.  Students on probation or dismissal status will not be able to utilize TReg.
  • Students who have no outstanding holds. Holds must be cleared prior to registering.
  • Students can register for credit only.
  • Non-credit courses offered through Corporate & Community Services will not be accepted.

How to Use Telephone Registration

  • A touch-tone telephone makes a different tone after each key is pressed. Telephones that make no tone or only a monotone will not work. Most pay telephones and all telephones on campus are touch-tone.
  • You have the option to pay by VISA or MasterCard, or any other payment method currently available.
  • TReg allows you to register, add or drop courses, and review your class schedule using a touch-tone telephone. When you use TReg, the touch-tone telephone functions as a computer keyboard, giving you live access to the college database. Adding and dropping classes through TReg is no different than the Office of Registration staff doing the input on campus. TReg is available to add classes through the end of late registration for all terms. All registrations processed during late registration are automatically assessed a $20 late fee unless you are adding or dropping additional classes to an existing class schedule.
  • Treg allows you to register for restricted sections and classes that have prerequisites if you have been given electronic permission or waiver by your academic advisor.
  • Treg provides an option for you to listen to open classes if you have selected a class on TREG that has been identified as closed.

PIN Numbers & Changes

You need to use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) along with your social security number to gain access to TReg. Initially, the PIN is the month and day of your birth. For example, if your birthday is June 29, your PIN is 0629. A zero must be added before single digit birth months and/or birth dates. You are strongly encouraged to change your PIN to protect against unauthorized access of your records. You may change your PIN by calling the Sinclair Help Desk at (937)512-4357 (HELP) or toll free at 1-866-781-4357.

Planning the Class Schedule & Completing the Registration Worksheet

You decide which courses to select and reference the registration dates associated with term in which you plan to register…see Registration Calendar. You should be certain to choose some alternate classes in case of closed or canceled classes (If you select a class that is either closed or canceled, you will be given the option to review available classes during your telephone registration session). Then, complete the registration worksheet in the quarter class schedule (this will help eliminate errors and speed up the registration process). You must use the 7- digit course synonym number that is unique to each course section for that quarter. Course synonym numbers change quarterly. Do not use the department and course number.
