Readmission and Admission Policy for Academically Dismissed Students

Students who have been dismissed from Sinclair for academic reasons and who wish to be readmitted must petition for readmission. The Petition for Readmission is available in the Office of Registration & Student Records, Building 10, second floor. The petition must be submitted to the appropriate division academic advisor's office at least three weeks before the first day of classes for the quarter the student wishes to enter. Exceptions can be made only by the division academic advisor.

Students dismissed for the first time must remain out of school for a minimum of one quarter, including summer. (For example, if dismissal was at the end of Fall Quarter, students may not attend Winter Quarter and may petition for readmission to Spring Quarter.) Students dismissed for a second time must remain out of school for one academic year (three quarters). Students dismissed for the third time will not be readmitted to Sinclair unless there are documented, extenuating circumstances.

Students who have been dismissed from another college who want to be admitted to Sinclair must petition for admission. The Transfer Student Admission Petition is available in your academic advisor's office. After completing this petition, students must return it to the appropriate division academic advisors office with a copy of the transcript from the previous institution attached. An official transcript from the previous institution must be sent to the Office of Registration & Student Records. Check the quarterly class schedule for the petition deadlines.
