Test Taking Hints

1. A state issued photo ID or a Tartan ID is required for placement testing. Students also need
    to know their Social Security number

2. Be well rested and eat properly prior to testing.

3. Be prepared to take at least two hours to complete all three sections of the test.
    (Remember -the test is untimed so there is no time limit.)

4. Calculators, cellular devices, dictionaries, notes, textbooks, or any reference
    materials are not permitted in the Testing Center.

5. RELAX!

6. TAKE YOUR TIME! TAKE BREAKS from testing in order to remain focused
   and attentive to the questions.

7. Read all directions and questions completely and carefully. Remember that you
    must answer each question as it is given to you and you cannotchange an answer
    once you have confirmed it.

8. If you must guess an answer to a question, try to eliminate one or more of the choices
    and then pick from the remaining choices.

9. Inform the Testing Center staff when taking a break to assure that your computer
    will not be disturbed.

10. If you find that you cannot continue with the test, inform the Testing Center staff
      that you must stop and they will provide further information.
