A1, A2, A3--Diplomats, Government Officials, Related Personnel, and Dependents
A1 and A3 status holders may enroll at a U.S. university or college incidental their employment by their governments. A2 status holders may enroll full time or part time.
E1/E2--Treaty Trader, Treaty Investor, and Dependents
E1/E2 principal status holders may engage only in incidental study at a U.S. university or college. E1/E2 dependents may enroll full time or part time.
K1--Fiance/Fiancee and Dependents
K1 visa status holdersand their dependent are eligible to study full or part time at a U.S. university or college.
L1/L2--Intracompany Transferee and Dependents
L1 status holders may enroll part time only in a U.S. university or college. L2 status holders may enroll full time or part time.
O1/O2/O3--Persons of Extraordinary Ability/Accompanying Personnel, and Their Dependents
O1 and O2 status holders may enroll part time only in a U.S. university or college. O3 status holders may enroll full time or part time.
P1/P2/P3/P4--Athletes/Entertainers/Support Personnel, and their Dependents
P1, P2, and P3 status holders may enroll part time only in a U.S. university or college. P4 status holders may enroll full time or part time.
TN/TD--Canadian and Mexican Workers and their Dependents under NAFTA
TN status holders may enroll part time only in a U.S. university or college. TD status holders may enroll full time or part time.
Residency for Tuition Purposes
A, E, L, O, P, NAFTA visa status holders do hold dual intent by federal regulation or INS practice and, therefore, are eligible for Ohio or Montgomery County tuition rates by Ohio Board of Regents and College policy.
NOTE: K1 status holders are not eligible for Ohio or Montgomery County tuition rates. Once permanent resident status has been granted by U.S. INS, contact the Office of Registration & Student Records for information about qualifying for Ohio or Montgomery County tuition rates.
To apply for admission and for Ohio or Montgomery County tuition rates, submit the following items to the Office of Registration & Student Records, building 10, 2nd floor:
- valid passport
- letter from employer or spouse's employer verifying current employment and that the employee is required to pay Ohio income tax
- apartment lease or closing statement for home
- I-94 valid Arrival/Departure Card
* valid through the last day of the term that you intend to enroll
If you do not submit items #3 and 4, you will be charged the out-of-state tuition rate of $145.00 per credit hour per credit hour. Click here for more information about residency for tuition purposes in the state of Ohio.

Montgomery County--$45.00 per credit hour per credit hour
Other Ohio--$73.50 per credit hour per credit hour
Out-of-State/Foreign--$145.00 per credit hour per credit hour
If you wish to enroll in a class that has an English or mathematics prerequisite, you will need to:
- complete the placement test in English or mathematics, or
- meet with an academic advisor with a copy of your university or college transcript that shows you have completed the prerequisite work at another school.
