Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Tartan Card work?
Think of your Tartan Card as being like a debit card. You put money on your Tartan Card, then the exact amount of each on-campus purchase is deducted instantly and automatically from your card balance.

How do I add value to my Tartan Card?
To add value to your card and replenish the fund balance, you can go to any Value Transfer Station or the Bursar's office on campus. Simply insert cash into the machine, and the appropriate value is added to your balance. You may also use the Online Card Office.

What happens at the end of the quarter or when I leave Sinclair?
The funds in your Tartan Card account will carry over from quarter to quarter, or can be refunded upon request when you leave Sinclair. See the disclosure page for more details.

What does the Tartan Card do?
Because the Tartan Card has your color photo on it, it's your on-campus I.D. card that lets you:
  • Access Sinclair facilities such as labs, the PAC and Teleport
  • Check out books and other materials from the Sinclair LRC
  • Get special discounts to Sinclair sporting events, theatre and dance events, and more

What is the online card office?
Sinclair Tartan Card's Online Card Office enables card holders's name and ID number to deposit money in cardholder's accounts using an accepted commercial credit card or debit card. A minimum of $10 and maximum of $500 may be deposited. Transactions are processed and settled through a clearinghouse and sent to the site's selected financial institution. Cardholders also may view their account transaction history and balances, and report a card lost or stolen by logging into a password-protected portion of the application. PLEASE NOTE: The Tartan Card ID number may also be referred to as the Campus ID number when using the Online Card Office. They are the same.

What is your User ID
The user ID is the 9 diget tartan card number as it appears on your tartan card.
