Caps, Gowns and Announcements

This year, the cost for a cap and gown package, including a tassel, is only $10.00, paid upon pick up of caps and gowns.  If you are eligible for honor cords, the cords are included in the $10.00 fee.  If you are a Phi Theta Kappa or Kappa Beta Delta member who will wear other authorized attire, to contact Phi Theta Kappa, please e-mail tracy.robbins@sinclair.edu and for Kappa Beta Delta, please e-mail dennis.brode@sinclair.edu.

Sinclair Community College graduates may pick up their caps and gowns in the Bookstore, located in Building 7 on the first floor during the week of the Commencement Ceremony.  Specific hours will be listed closer to the date of the ceremony.  You must present a valid photo ID (either your Tartan Card or driver's license) to pick up your cap and gown.  When you pick up your cap and gown, you will also receive your graduation card.  You MUST bring this card to the rehearsal and to the ceremony.

The Bookstore does not require you to turn in your cap and gown sizes.  Regalia is ordered in bulk to limit any possible problems with specific orders.

Candidates are urged to unpack their gowns and hang them up to remove any wrinkles.  You do not need to return the caps and gowns to Sinclair Community College.  These items are yours to keep.

Please note that your tassel is worn on the left side of your cap.

IMPORTANT: The University of Dayton Area is NOT equipped with air conditioning.  Although the ceremony will be held in the evening during cooler hours, you may want to wear cooler clothes underneath your cap and gown.

Graduation announcements may be purchased from the Bookstore.  Individual announcements (including envelopes) can be purchased for $.25 each.  A pack of ten announcements (with envelopes) can be purchased for $2.00 per pack.

For more information regarding cap and gown orders, please contact the Bookstore at (937) 512-2506 or tartanst@sinclair.edu.
