SAMPLE RESUMES
Basic Resume | Outline
Don't have a resume yet? You have to start somewhere. This little outline will allow you to jot down your necessary information in a nice neat package that can be easily transferred to a Word document for electronic storage and email distribution.
Type 1; Combination Resume 1 | Resume 2
The combination resume allows jobseekers to mix resume styles and display skills, talents, accomplishments and past experience in an effective manner. Typically the combo resume includes a Skills section as well as the chronological listing of previous employment.
Type 2; Chronological | Resume1
A chronological resume displays job information about the candidate by order of occurence, with the most current on top. The chronological format includes an Objective section which targets the jobseeekers desired job goal.
Type 3; Functional Resume 1 | Resume2
A functional resume focuses on your skills and experience, rather than on your chronological work history. It is used most often by people who are changing careers or who have gaps in their employment history.
Scannable Resume | Flyer
Some corporations employ the use of resume scanning software that scans resumes for keywords contained in the resume. The systems are able to database the resume and the keyword link to that resume and do searches on resumes based upon the keyword. This flyer gives some helpful hints and considerations on how to prepare a scannable resume.
COVER LETTERS
Format Formula | Sample
This sample explains the why and how of cover letter construction.
Recent Graduate | Sample
This letter emphasizes recent educational accomplishments and skills, as well as any extracurricular activities or organizational and club memberships.
Qualifications Matching | Sample
This letter addresses actual job postings by listing the employers requirements in one column and the candidates matching skills in the other. This letter is useful in that it allows the employer to see what the candidate has to offer in relation to the requirements of the position.
Email Format | Sample
With email becoming the most popular form of resume referral for job applications, email cover letters have become the necessary statement of intentions when submitting your resume for consideration. Email cover letters can be shorter and more to the point than the traditional cover letter, but require proper grammar and concise idea development to be effective.
