Portfolio Assessment

Students interested in earning credit through portfolio must first enroll in PRL1100 Portfolio Development (2 credit hours). This course is taught similarly to an independent study, can be done exclusively online, and teaches the student how to compile a portfolio to be submitted for evaluation toward specific course credit. During this writing intensive class, students will explain how the course outcomes have been mastered with their previous learning. Once the portfolio is finished, it must be submitted for departmental evaluation in order to earn credit for the specific course. Each submitted portfolio costs $45 to evaluate. Students will receive a grade for PRL1100 and the class(es) for which the portfolio was created. Additional portfolios can be created and submitted for the next two years for other classes, as needed.
