Course Organization and Requirements in Depth

Sociology 111 is organized in modules which consist of the following:

  1. Chapter Readings:
Each module number corresponds with a chapter in the book. Read every chapter in it’s entirety. The midterm and final exam will focus on the noninternet related material covered in each chapter.

  2. Website questions & Reflections:
Each chapter contains sets of URL website addresses. These sites expand the learning content and assist you in achieving course objectives. For each set of URLs thre is a question poised by the author of the text. A chapter may contain up to sixteen questions. I am requesting that you choose 5 questions per chapter that interest you to answer. Discussion forums are associated with each module to accommodate your responses.

Reflection is an important part of the learning process. Discussion Forums have been structured to get your input and feedback. Points will be given for your responses to the reflective questions posed at the end of each module. Discussion forums are associated with each module to accommodate your reflections. Earned Credit Points Possible: 100 points

    Special Note:
Many of the URL’s have changed since this book was published. I have updated the addresses in each chapter, and for that reason the url’s listed on the screen may not match those listed in your book. Follow the updated adresses and questions on the screen. If you have problems with the addresses listed on screen several things could be wrong. The server is down, internet use is very high, the URL has changed or the document has been removed. To find out if there have been additional web page address changes, dead-links, and subsititute links check out the web page for sociologylnet (http://www.nku.edu/~ferrantej)
